Looking for private self defence in Leeds? Our one-to-one self defence training is designed to give you usable skills. Every session is tailored to your ability, fitness level, and personal concerns. Whether that’s staying safe when in certain situations or building confidence after a bad experience.
Unlike group classes, private self defence training allows you to progress faster, ask questions freely, and focus on what actually matters to you. Based in Leeds, our private sessions cover awareness, de-escalation, and effective self defence skills that work under pressure.

If you’re looking for private self defence in Leeds, our one-to-one training is built around Wing Chun Kung Fu. Wing Chun is a practical martial art designed for real-world fight or flight situations. Wing Chun focuses on economy of motion, minimum movement, and direct responses. This makes it ideal for self defence rather than sport or competition.
Wing Chun was the original style studied by Bruce Lee and is specifically designed to work under pressure. Instead of relying on strength, speed, or flexibility, it teaches you how to stay calm, protect yourself, and respond efficiently when it matters most. This makes it highly effective for beginners, adults with no martial arts background, and anyone who wants realistic self defence skills they can trust.
Private self defence training allows sessions to be tailored entirely around you — your confidence level, personal safety concerns, and real-life scenarios. Based in Leeds, our private Wing Chun self defence sessions prioritise awareness, positioning, close-range defence, and automatic responsiveness.
Wing Chun’s drills and practices allow your body to react instantaneously. This is the best form of self defence, where you don’t have time to think about what you’re going to do.

The format of the session will depend on your own goals and what you specifically want to work on. We can arrange sessions to work on the most important aspects of self defence which are appropriate for your needs.
My background is a mixed array of martial arts including aikido, Kali and Karate, but most of my experience comes from my Wing Chun background which I began in 1993.
